Build a freelance writing brand

A strong brand is essential for freelancers, as it helps create a recognizable name and identity. This can make it easier for clients to find you and recognize your work. This year, I intend to develop my brand identity kit and share relevant content on Instagram and LinkedIn.

Offer more value to my clients

I want to show my clients I am committed to their success and building a positive working relationship. Delivering value to my clients means finding ways to ensure they get the most out of their investment. One way to do this is to offer additional services, such as content strategy, editing, copywriting, or proofreading. Another way is to be proactive in my communications by sending quick responses or sharing writing tips and advice.

Develop specialized skills

Now that I’ve been freelancing for over two years, I want to take time to hone my craft and become an expert in my field. I am interested in taking workshops on freelancing and writing to sharpen my skills and ensure I’m up-to-date on the latest trends. In addition to reading books and listening to podcasts, I plan to take on more complex projects and write more quickly.

Network with other freelancers

Finally, the fourth way I want to scale my freelancing business is to network with other creative professionals. This involves connecting with writers, editors, social media managers, and graphic designers. One way to do this is by attending industry events, like conferences. In due time, I want to join the Freelance Writer’s Guild of the Philippines to gain more resources and opportunities.

Conclusion

Scaling up a freelance writing business can be challenging, but it can also be enriching. By following these four strategies, I’m confident I can take my business to the next level and succeed. I’m excited to see what the future holds and look forward to continuing to grow my freelance writing business.
